Jeppe Hein - The artist 2021

Jeppe Hein is a Danish artist living and working in Berlin. In his interactive art he combines aesthetics with play, public with individual experience, environment and inner world. Born in Copenhagen in 1974, Jeppe Hein studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and at the Städelschule in Frankfurt/Main from 1997 to 2003. He has been showing his works around the world since 2001. His last project in public space took place in Central Park and at the UN headquarters in New York in 2019. "Jeppe Hein's highly aesthetic and playful art works so well in public spaces because it also has a strong communicative effect," says Henning Schaper. "The rich variety of his artistic interventions, which draw on sources of inspiration such as mirror cabinets, labyrinths and optical puzzles, was a key factor in the decision.
