Geroldsauer Mühle | "The power of water"

A mill wheel turns in the Geroldsauer Mühle mill, generating energy using hydropower. This energy is fed into the main building, where it powers the heating system using an air heat pump. The operators of the Geroldsauer Mühle utilise their 30 years of experience in hydroelectric power generation, a tradition that dates back to 1859, when a corn mill was operated on the same site. The new building conceals an ingenious system: a 350 metre long canal carries water from the Grobbach stream through an underground pipeline to a riser shaft, from where it flows via a wooden pipe to the blades of the mill wheel. This process can even be observed from the beer garden.

Baden Hills Golf- & Curling Club e. V. | "Habitat golf course"

The Baden Hills golf course is particularly committed to biodiversity. Bird and bat nesting boxes and perches for birds of prey have been installed, native wildflower meadows have been sown and two hotels have even been set up for bees. The natural pond, the numerous hornbeam corners and specially created deadwood accumulations and piles of stones serve as a refuge for the numerous animals living there. Particularly noteworthy is the conservation of resources thanks to the farm's own photovoltaic system, as well as the reduction of up to 20 % in field spraying.

The Baden-Hills golf course - a retreat for animals & plants & a wonderful sport and nature experience for us all.
