Is there a tram in Baden-Baden?
There is currently no active tram system in Baden-Baden. Public transport is mainly provided by buses, which form a well-developed and reliable network. The buses run regularly and offer convenient connections to important destinations within the city as well as to neighbouring municipalities.
Historically, however, there was a tramway in Baden-Baden. This was opened on 24 January 1910 and was in operation until 1951. The tram covered a distance of 5.1 kilometres and connected important parts of the city such as Weststadt, Leopoldsplatz and Lichtental. Over the years, the route network was extended before it was finally converted to trolleybuses for economic reasons and to modernise the transport system. The tram service finally came to an end in February 1951.
