The church Stiftskirche in Baden-Baden is located on the market square, below the New Castle. With its approximately 68 metre high tower, it dominates the skyline of the spa town and looks back on a long history. It is the oldest continuously used building in the city and is located in the core zone of the UNESCO World Heritage district in Baden-Baden.

Stourdza Kapelle

The Stourdza Chapel sits majestically on the Michaelsberg in Baden-Baden. It was built between 1863 and 1866 in the neoclassical style and is not only an important religious building, but also an impressive family crypt of the Stourdza dynasty. The chapel impresses with its 24 metre high dome, which is a miniature replica of the dome of St Peter's Church in Rome and provides special acoustics. Inside, there are impressive frescoes and icons painted on copper sheets, as well as sculptures by important artists such as Rinaldo Rinaldi and Thomas Gabriel.

Kloster Lichtenthal

Abbey Kloster Lichtenthal, also known as the Cistercian Abbey of Lichtenthal, is located in the Lichtental district of Baden-Baden. Founded in 1245 by Margravine Irmengard von Baden, the monastery still offers a retreat for spiritual and cultural contemplation today. For centuries, it served as the house monastery and burial place of the Margraves of Baden and is deeply interwoven into the history of the House of Baden.

Today, abbey Kloster Lichtenthal serves as an educational centre and guest house. The nuns dedicate themselves to education and religious handicrafts in addition to the solemn liturgy of the hours. The convent houses a primary school, art workshops, a café and a convent shop.
