Arrival by Coach
Baden-Baden is easily accessible for coach companies, tour operators and their passengers. However, we recommend planning ahead. Here coach tour operators and coach drivers will find all the information and special regulations for travelling by coach, including information on coach parking.
Special entry permit
Please note that the city centre of Baden-Baden is closed to coaches. However, you can use the centrally located Ludwig-Wilhelm-Platz to enter and exit the city centre with a special entry permit from the city of Baden-Baden for a fee.

Entry & parking with the coach
Can coaches enter Baden-Baden city centre?
No, the city centre of Baden-Baden is closed to coaches. Access is only possible as far as Ludwig-Wilhelm-Platz with a special entry permit.
Buses can travel to the Festival Hall and the Caracalla Spa bus stop without a special entry permit.
Can coaches park in Baden-Baden city centre?
No, parking in the city centre is not possible. Buses must park in the paid bus car park on Eisenbahnstraße.
Where can coaches let passengers on and off?
If your group is travelling by coach, you will need a special entry permit (€15 per coach/day). With this permit, you can drive to Ludwig-Wilhelm-Platz in the city centre (see bus map) to allow your guests to board and alight centrally. The bus may not park at Ludwig-Wilhelm-Platz.
The bus can be parked in the paid bus car park on Eisenbahnstraße.
Please let us know if you would like to book the special entry permit. We will be happy to issue this permit in conjunction with the booking of other services such as a guided tour of the city.

Where can coaches obtain the special entry permit?
The special entry permit can only be issued by Baden-Baden Tourism Board in conjunction with the booking of additional services such as a guided tour of the city.
Otherwise, you can book special entry permits with the road traffic authority (strassenverkehr@baden-baden.de).

Directions for coaches
Directions to Ludwig-Wilhelm-Platz
Central boarding and alighting from the coach is possible at Ludwig-Wilhelm-Platz.
Directions:
- When entering the city from the A5 motorway, follow the brown marked city route "Zentrum/Congress", which leads into the Michaelstunnel.
- Leave the tunnel at the first exit, turn left at the tunnel exit into Lichtentaler Straße, take the second exit at the roundabout and stay on Lichtentaler Straße. Continue straight ahead on this road and after approx. 300 metres (before you reach Augustaplatz) turn sharp left to Ludwig-Wilhelm-Platz. Ludwig-Wilhelm-Platz is located behind the Evangelical City Church on the right-hand side. This is also the start of the city tour.
- The bus driver can pick up the group at Ludwig-Wilhelm-Platz at an agreed time.
- Please note: It is not possible to park the bus at Ludwig-Wilhelm-Platz. To park the bus, you must drive to the paid bus car park on Eisenbahnstraße.

Drive from Ludwig-Wilhelm-Platz, 76530 Baden-Baden to the public bus car park (3.4 km)
- Drive from Ludwig-Wilhelm-Straße via Bertholdstraße onto Lichtentaler Straße (850 m)
- Exit onto Michaelstunnel/B500
- Continue on the B500 (2.3 km)
- Destination: Eisenbahnstraße bus park in Eichelgartenstraße 2A, 76530 Baden-Baden
